EFL ESL Spring Songs for children | My Top 10

EFL ESL Spring songs for children

Spring is an exciting time of year. After the long winter, everyone is pleased to see a change in the season and everything coming back to life. You can do lots of different lessons with a Spring theme so I’ve tried to gather as many different songs as possible to give you some ideas. My Top 10 EFL ESL Spring Songs for Children cover everything from animals coming out of hibernation and flowers growing to the Easter Bunny and Easter Egg Hunts. We’ll look at games and activities to do with all of these too for all age groups and levels of English. So, let’s get on with it! Here are my favorite EFL ESL Spring Songs for children.

Spring Song for Kids by Easy Monkey Songs

This is an easy to learn and sing general song about what you can see in spring. Ask the kids what they can see out of the window or go for a walk and see how many spring things you can spot. Then adapt the song to add these. It would be nice to make a poster or wall display about Spring for your class with all these different things on. Invite the parents in to see it and then you can all sing this song together.

Spring Song for Children by Music Box Kids

If you’re looking for a nice video about spring to watch with your class, this should fit the bill. The song is all about waking up after the winter and celebrating the spring. You could use it to introduce ideas about animals and hibernation. In the video, there is a bear and a turtle but you could add lots more. It would be fun to hide lots of different flashcards or toy animals around the classroom and let the children wake them up from their hibernation. It also deals with rain clouds and plants needing water to grow so this would be another aspect you could look at.

Spring Song for Kids | Spring is HERE by ELF Kids Videos

Lots more things that you can see, hear, smell and feel in Springtime. This song would probably be useful for older classes talking about the difference between winter and spring or about the five senses. It would be great if you could get outside so the kids could use all their senses themselves. Alternatively use flashcards of spring objects and let them decide whether they can see, hear, smell, taste or feel them.

Spring Songs for Children |Spring is Here by TheLearningStation

One to get the children up and dancing with lots of animal actions. Flap your wings like a bluebird or a butterfly and look for all the signs of spring you can find. What else can you add to the song? You could use this as part of a lesson about spring in the garden and the changes happening. Otherwise, insects and butterflies would also make a good topic covering colors, body parts, food and life cycle and this song would fit in perfectly.

It’s a Beautiful Day | Spring/Summer Song for Kids by The Singing Walrus

A lovely song celebrating being able to play outside and enjoy the good weather. What do your class like to do in spring? What do they like to do outside? And what activities can they think of that they can do in spring. Get them to ask questions to each other about what they like to do. Maybe they could draw up a program of what they want to do in the spring.

Sing a Song of Flowers by The Kiboomers

How many flowers can you see? What color are they? A fun song for little children to practice colors and counting. Ask them to find different color flowers in the classroom. Can you see a purple flower? Let them take turns asking each other too. Then the kids can draw their own garden and describe the colors to you.

The Bees Go Buzzing by Super Simple Songs

A fun counting song to teach numbers from 1 to 10. You could act this one out together in class, either as a circle time song or in small groups. It would also be great as part of a larger topic about bees and how they live. You could play a game with an obstacle course around the garden which the bees have to go around and collect nectar before flying back to their hive. Do it in teams with the winner the first team whose bees are all back in the hive.

Spring Song for Kids | Watch the Flowers Grow by Easy Peasy Plays

If you’re learning about gardening and growing plants, this would be a really useful song to learn about the different steps. Act out the different stages in class or plant your own real seeds and wait for them to grow. Make an instruction sheet together with everything you need to grow a plant and get the kids to write the instructions and illustrate it.

Here Comes the Easter Bunny by Maple Leaf Learning

Everything you’ll need if you’re having an Easter Egg hunt or learning about Easter celebrations. Learn all about Easter eggs and hide them around the class to have your own egg hunt. Where are the eggs? Can you say where they are? A good way to practice prepositions. Let the kids take turns being the Easter bunny. How many eggs can they find? Count them together.

B-U-N-N-Y | Easter Bunny Song for Kids by The Kiboomers

An Easter version of my favorite Christmas song, this a fun way to learn about the Easter bunny and what it looks like. You could use this as an introduction to a lesson on Easter traditions. Then play a game of pin the tail on the Easter bunny or hide some eggs to find.
